IELTS (International English Language Testing System)

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is a standardised test for
assessing the English proficiency of non-native speakers. It has two versions:
Academic (for higher education) and General Training (for migration and work). The
test includes four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking, each scored on
a 0-9 band scale. Administered by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and
Cambridge Assessment English, IELTS is widely accepted by universities, employers,
and immigration authorities worldwide. The test can be taken in paper-based or
computer-based formats, with the Speaking test conducted face-to-face with an
examiner.
